    Free Diagnostics Scheme

    • Initiated with the objective of social health security and reduce the out-of-pocket expenditure (OOPE) of the people, Free Diagnostic Services have paved the way for strengthening public health services in Uttarakhand State.
    • Free Diagnostic scheme started in Uttarakhand state on 12th Aug, 2021. In the first phase, services have been started in a total of 254 Public Health Institutions (110 Public Health Facilities in Kumaon Region and 144 in Garhwal region).
    • At present, 208 pathological tests are being conducted free of cost upto PHC level in PPP mode as per CGHS rate list 2020.
    • The Service Provider is responsible for Laboratory Testing at all DH, SDH, CHC and PHC on 24x7x365 days basis.
    • Uttarakhand Government issued order no -712/XXVIII-3-2019 Dt.18th Dec 2019 to roll out free essential Drug Scheme throughout the state. Uttarakhand EDL was revised in year 2019 which is facility wise. The present EDL have 871 drugs, 111 Surgical Items and 94 Sutures.
    • Central Medicine Store Department in Directorate of Medical, Health & Family Welfare, Uttarakhand is a centralized procurement agency.
    • DVDMS is done through e-Aushadhi portal currently managed by C-DAC. State has three drug ware houses located in Dehradun, Roorkee and US Nagar. The warehouse at Dehradun serves as the main warehouse from where Vaccines and Drugs are distributed to the districts.
    • There is one CMO-CMSD warehouse in all 13 districts of Uttarakhand.
