    Quality Assurance

Quality Assurance program was launched by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare; Government of India in the year 2013 to meets the needs of Public Health System in the country. With time many different certifications are added to the programme each focusing on holistic aspects of service delivery. This program was initiated to improve the poor quality of health care services in public health facilities. Regular assessment of health facilities by their own staff, district team and state and ‘action-planning’ for timely closing the observed gaps is the way in improving the quality of health care services in our health facilities.
Currently in the State of Uttarakhand, a total of 11 facilities are Laqshya/ NQAS certified which includes PHCs, CHCs, SDHs and DHs. Uttarakhand has also been awarded runner up award for LaQshya implementation in Labour Room till FY 2020-21 by GOI. Apart from this, 64 facilities have been given KAYAKALP certification on achieving the required standards of care.
These achievements have reinforced the trust of general public in the government health system as well as it has developed healthy competition amongst the health facilities in the state to provide supreme quality care to the people of Uttarakhand.
