Free Diagnostic and Essential Drugs Scheme
Free Diagnostic Scheme
l Objective of social health security and reduce the out of pocket expenditure of the people, Free Diagnostic Services has paved the way for strengthening health services of the State.The Uttarakhand State Govt has initiated a Free Diagnostic Service from 12th Aug’2021 to provide accessible, affordable and quality diagnostic services in all public health facilities. Provision of free of cost, extended list of tests up to district hospitals. The Govt is committed to facilitate the attainment of universal access to equitable, affordable and quality healthcare, which is accountable and responsive to the needs of the people of Uttarakhand. Service initiated through PPP mode for the project and has been serving the diagnostic facilities in DH/SHD/CHC/PHC/UPHC/APHC.We have established two Mother Labs in Uttarakhand-Dehradun & Haldwani and hub labs set up in all 13 districts of Kumaon & Garhwal. This project has also provided employment to around 800 people in Uttarakhand.
Tele-radiology
l A package of essential diagnostics, if available free of cost, in public health facilities would not only reduce the burden on the poor and the vulnerable but would also be accessible to sections of the middle class society, who face financial stress on account of expensive health care diagnostics. This would also make the health care in public health facilities comprehensive and there by attract a larger segment of population to avail the services. To fulfil all the gaps and solve the issue, Uttarakhand provide diagnostic services (Tele-radiology –Capturing & Digitization of X-ray, CT scan, MRI and Mammography) at selected Hospitals and Health Centers. Thus overall Objective of this initiative is, to ensure the availability of radiology diagnostics, and to reduce high out of pocket expenditure, thereby enabling appropriate treatment, based on accurate diagnosis, thus improving, overall quality of health care, and patient’s experience in public health facilities.
Free Essential Drugs Scheme
Objective of Free Essential Drugs scheme is social health security and reduce the out of pocket expenditure of the people, scheme has paved the way for strengthening health services of the State. Under Free Essential Drugs scheme providing all Essential and consumables compromising of drugs, Surgical Items and Sutures to all the Health facility of Uttarakhand State.
