National Urban Health Mission- Uttarakhand

  • As per census 2011 the urban population of state of Uttarakhand is 30.5 Lakh including cantonments & census towns.
  • The overall urbanization rate, which is around 30.2%, of Uttarakhand is comparable with the national average of 31.2%.
  • Average annual urban growth rate of 4.0% is much high compared to rural growth rate 1.2% of the state.

  • NUHM is a subsidiary of NHM, operating Urban Primary Health Centers (UPHCS) since2015, forproviding the Primary Health Care of the Urban slums.
  • These UPHCs mainly serve the urban slum population and the UPHCs are in the slum or 500 meters from the slum.

  4. Family Planning
  5. Immunization
  6. ICTC
  7. Wellness activities
  8. Screening of Diabetes, Hypertension, Oral & Cervical cancer
  9. Communicable disease

12.  Outreach activities

Each UPHC should have 1 emergency bed.
